Fr. Joseph is from kataf local government of Kaduna State, Nigeria.  He is the second child of six of his late parents Mr. Justin Amadu Shekari and Matina Shekari. He graduated from Nasarawa State University in 2021. Ordained a Catholic priest for the Diocese of Kafanchan  on November 24, 2012, he served most recently as Pastor of St. Monica’s Parish, Ikulu Pari, Nigeria, 2020 to 2024.
